Preparation
Users Things we request you to prepare in advance
Please make sure there is a power supply for all network devices, as well as network devices which will be provided by NTT West. Furthermore, please prepare ”LAN cables” to connect the devices together.
1.For PCs, Smart Phones, and Tablets
2.LAN cable (1000BASE-T or higher straight cable)
- A LAN cable may be required to conduct router settings and updates even when using wireless LAN connections.
- A 1000BASE-T or higher cable (straight cable) is recommended for contracts for ”FLET’S Hikari Next Family Super High Speed Type Hayabusa, Family High Speed Type, Mansion Super High Speed Type Hayabusa or Mansion High Speed Type”.
- LAN cables may be included with the devices that you will connect, so please make an inquiry to the manufacturers of the devices for more details.
Please ensure power supplies for the computer, as devices such as the ONU*1 built-in Hikari Denwa Service Home Gateway Device will require one power outlet*2 or more in order to be installed.
- ONU : optical network unit
※Please prepare a power strip with multiple ports, as the power adapter is relatively large. - 「Power outlets will be needed respectively to install the ONU (or the indoor VDSL device) and the Hikari Denwa Service standalone Home Gateway Device when making a contract for ”Hikari Denwa” after starting to use ”FLET’S Hikari Next” or ”FLET’S Hikari Light”.
Documents necessary for setup will be sent by NTT West and the contracted service provider
1.Documents received from NTT West
2.Documents received from the contracted service provider
STEP3
”FLET’S Hikari” Installation
Depending on the environment of the facilities in a house/apartment (the user’s usage environment) there are two ways of installation, with an NTT West visit or without it. The determination is automatically decided based on housing type, and we will inform you upon confirming the contents of your application.
When a visit is required for installation
Personnel will carry out the installation. It will take about 2 hours to complete.
When a visit is not required for installation
No personnel will come to carry out installation if the optical fiber line installation is not required. After reading the ”application guide” and preparing the ”devices”, we ask you to connect the device and setup, in the designated order.
STEP4
Internet Connection / Settings
You will be able to install smoothly with the ”FLET’S Settings Guide” that comes with it on the day of installation.
They will come in advance with the devices sent by NTT West to customers who will perform the setup themselves.
- FLET’S Simple Setup Tool cannot be installed on macOS. Set it up by yourself.
- Some features of this tool (automatic detection of wireless LAN connections feature) cannot be used depending on the version of Windows 10 you are using. Please conduct settings with the LAN cable connection.
- If the ”settings guide” is not compatible with Windows 10 and you are using Windows 10, click here for guidance. (PDF / 1.7MB)
